What if the cost of your wedding ring was far greater than its monetary price? Would you feel comfortable wearing a necklace or earrings that left behind hundreds of kilograms of sterile and toxic soil?
The Toxic Gold/Giftigt Guld March will take place on November 2nd on the streets of Copenhagen. Its purpose is to raise awareness regarding the worldwide dangers of cyanide mining in general and about the controversial mining project at Roșia Montană, Romania, in particular. We will walk 13.000 steps to symbolize the 13.000 tonnes of cyanide that the RMGC corporation plans to use each year in Roșia Montană.
If you want to learn more or join us and spread the word, meet us November 2nd, 14:00 at Rådhusplads, København (the Copenhagen City Hall Square). A possible route that maximizes the interaction with others is the following: GO TO Google MAPS.
